At the peak of their artistic craft, musicians have the ability to transcend barriers which unite people that come from all different backgrounds of life. Musicians can create music that touch the very heart and soul of mankind that will uplift spirits and give them hope for years to come. Musicians possess artistic qualities that make them memorable among nations. In this century one name comes to mind when referring to a musician who is making his mark in musical history; Christopher Kee. Christopher "C.J" Kee, the firstborn out of nine children, who was raised in Charlotte, N.C is undoubtedly no stranger to music. Having spent his life surrounded by the mentoring and experience of his father, the Grammy nominated gospel artist John P. Kee, Chris was designed to develop into one of the finest musicians of his time. Since the age of two, Kee has held a pair of drumsticks which lead him to receive his first professional drum kit at the age of six. He began playing drums in church alongside his father at an early age where his talent became cultivated. For many years Chris would travel alongside his father across the country and be introduced to other great musicians along the way that would inspire him to pursue a professional career as a drummer. Kee has had the wonderful opportunity to listen, and study under many great drummers such as, Ladell Abrams, Calvin Rodgers, Teddy Campbell, Doobie Powell, Calvin (Coone) Napper, and Jamie Gamble; throughout his career he has been inspired by numerous pioneers of music, such as Dave Weckl, Dennis Chambers, Lil' John Roberts, Gerald Heyward, Marvin Mcquitty, Aaron Spears, Stewart Copeland, Jeff Watts, Brian Frasier-Moore, Jo Jo Mayer, Jeremy Haynes, Buddy Rich, Steve Gadd, just to name a few. Kee states that "I really had no choice but to follow in the footsteps of greatness, because that's all I was surrounded by at a young age!"

Having the privilege to observe Chris Kee perform is guaranteed to captivate your heart and make you smile. The atmosphere that he creates on stage is in a category of its own eminence. No matter what arena or genre Kee is placed in, Chris always finds a way to adjust and bring such a musical energy to the performance of everyone that surrounds him.
