On a night of ecstasy
I slept with my nightmares
On a nest of flames
She sat on the window sill
The cold midnight iridescent behind her
She sighed contemplating her madness
I was anxious for melancholy
Because I knew she had to leave
But not before we dreamt just one last time
White and blue rainbows wept
With echoing laughter of silent tears
In sorrow I slept elated
She left eventually
Not a sound or a letter
Goodbyes are just too painful
I cried again when I awoke
Feeling the morning dew trickling down
From my intelligent solemn face
